Born in Kittery, Maine, George "BJ Cooper" Yezarski grew up in a military family that never stayed in one place for long — but music was always the constant. At just seven years old, a chance encounter in Hawaii with legendary entertainer Don Ho lit a spark that would never go out.
By fifteen, BJ had formed his first band, The Crystal Ship, and was co-hosting a weekend radio show broadcast across three states. His journey took him through orchestras, county fairs, and stages across the country.
Serving in the U.S. Air Force beginning in 1976, BJ received the Medal of Commendation for above-and-beyond bravery during a life-threatening aircraft fire in Anchorage. Even while serving his country, the music never stopped.
Over decades, BJ has released nine albums with worldwide radio airplay. His single Haywire charted at #39 on the Indie Country Chart, with spins on Music Row and Country Christian stations across the country. Along the way, he's shared stages and handshakes with legends — including George Jones.
"The music doesn't belong to me."
